What is in the Packaging

I received a courier from  a reputed bank. The item was a plastic material, (no no not any card). I opened the package and was pretty impressed at the first sight.

The packaging was almost equivalent to the actual item's worth, or may be even better than the plastic.

Yes nowadays "Mind-Share" costs a  lot.

It is so funny that the same banks, send emails reading "print if only required...........  to save environment" and compromise on environmental policies when it comes to packaging their products and accessories. Were trees not  cut down to produce such a package, I really wonder.

Any customer would take it and use it even if it had been packed in an ordinary material. Safety during the courier can be taken care in a much cost effective way.

But you know this is the game of Mind Share.

"The MIND SHARE" for the brand is the most important.

Yes they had my mind share, for sure and I am sharing the same idea with you.

But how far should one go to have the Mind Share?

Is the Packaging really important?

Money Moon

Countries have begun the competition for their place in the space. The world war in the future can be fought for a place not in the world but for a place in the moon or for the moon itself.

USA wants other nations not to disturb its landing site on the moon and wants it to be declared as a national park. They have planned to grow vegetables on the moon. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ on the moon landing sight.

China has sent a probe to moon, which would make the dust raise, and could disturb the already analyzing US's probe.

Other countries who have their objects on the moon are India and Russia. There are also private organizations planning Moon Visits. Your Honey Moon can be literally 'Honey Moon'. Marriages can be made in Moon too.

There are already many man made objects on the moon. A sort of pollution has already begun. The detailed list as below. refer Wikipedia

All innovations are good, but when you do not keep the earth fit, and planning to live in the moon, where will the beings on earth go?

We have entered a race, which has no real end line. Live long the MONEY MOON.

Are You Hungry? Have You Eaten? and Indian Farmers - ANSWERS

Are You Hungry? Have You Eaten? with ANSWERS.

In India- Farmers

How do farmers live?
They live in a very poor condition, without access to basic facilities. Go through and see what basic facilities they get poor facility

What are their earnings?
They can earn much more by selling their piece of land than farming and earning from that produce. They are struggling to meet the ends from their farming incomes.

What is the government doing to make them more productive?
Actually nothing, otherwise we could have seen the results much earlier. Banks are supposed to support farmers, by giving low interest loans to farmers. Somehow that has not translated to farming productivity or increase in farmers' standard.

How efficient is our agriculture?
Poor. Read the next answer, you will know.

Where are we ranking in terms of our agricultural efficiency?
Far below than the potential. India is 55% less efficient* than China and 40% less efficient* than Indonesia.

What is the comparison of software GDP and (the real produce) agriculture GDP?
Software GDP* is 40% and Agricultural GDP* is 16% How do you call this country as a country of villages if farming gives only this GDP.

What do we do to make India no.1 in agriculture
1)Young people to be motivated to see, agriculture as one of the professional fields
2)Banks to genuinely support the current farmers
3)Farming to be treated important than real estate (people select selling the land because it is much easier than farming)

How to reduce food price
Support the farmer and the right politician (India is changing. Go through what AAP has done in Delhi www.aamaadmiparty.org)

How to take care of poor Indians (Indians who are poor)
Produce and Share, Ingenuously, than export and sell. Japan is an example of that principle.

Office and World Peace

Hi

Are you a happy person in your job or business? If yes read this, if no continue reading. We have got some thing to think over.  Do you agree that the world is made of people who work in an office, managing politics and public works, or in an office linked to manufacturing a product and or selling the product, or working in a place which is managing services offered to people. People can be in jobs or in businesses linked to the above.

So any person in this world is linked or related to a person working in an office or running a business. We for the purpose of this discussion currently will not look at people idling time or linked or only related to idlers.

The point is any impact in an office is taken home. I have heard people saying. 'I have clarity of my role. I dont mixup both office and home or personal'. Oh really come on! What? you are not thinking about your daughter even once when you are in office or you dont think about a good/bad comment of your boss when you are at home. Being home or at office mentally is not 100 percent possible. Are you with me?

Therefore you are not  completely a different person at home and at office. You are the same human being with same attitudes.

Dear Bosses at office if you ensure you keep your people happy, and they keep their teams happy world over, the world will be happy. Also dear subordinates and team members of various business and political teams, keep your bosses happy the world will be happier.

We need to understand when personal goals and team's and organisation's and states and country's goals are towards betterment of all their components - the members, world will become a much happier place to live.

World peace and happiness to occur in the minds first then it will happen in reality.

Mars Next Earth

There are 100,000 people registered for a one way journey to Mars says a report. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/08/12/mars_one_hundred_thousand_applications/

They have registered for one way, meaning they don't mind not coming back.

One view is, it is a great achievement, able to go to Mars. Like flying to the US, in the near future man will fly to Mars, which is more than 200 million miles away(average distance). From day one, we will have a cellular network their, Cogo-Coola and Facebuk account getting operated from Mars.

Mars will have evolved humans who know to increase carbon footprint from day one, unlike earth seeing an evolving destruction.

On the other hand, mankind has enough of land to be taken care on the earth. For instance in India with one of the densest population in the world, the arable land to population ratio is approx. 1 acre to 1 person even now.

We are already discussing about highest level of carbon dioxide emission levels which could endanger humanity.

Mars is definitely a solution to escape from earth. But it will be of an 'Elysium' type, a solution for world's richest.

Mars is only 11% of earths mass and if that can be a solution, definitely saving the world is an easier, and a solution for all human beings.

Information Explosion and The Internet Race

We can see the race happening among the top websites. Google offered blogsite, free to anyone. Face book offered space for any one to post any comment, any picture and any video(with decent filter). Now linkedin has started to offer a controlled blogsite, where limited people are allowed to express their views.

One thing is clear they are now racing for the viewership.

There is too much of information and ideas expressed. There is too much to read. By the time you have scrolled down the webpage, you can see 'five new updates', then again you scroll up to find whats new.  And of course one of the methods to filter and read the most read, is following the trend - 'the trending'. Read the blog/article with highest hits or comments. Ok, where is the minority being saved in this internet world.

There could be a minority which has a very good idea, which may not be supported by the system of 'trending'. Good ideas could be lost in the ocean of information.

This is truly an explosion of information. If this can be compared to something in physical world, it would look like a nuclear explosion in the real world.

Now the whole wonder is, are these websites completely inclined in making the world better? or looking at making their financials better than their competitors? Hope it is for the former and not the later.

On the flip-side, there is almost nothing that you cannot get from internet. These blogsites have made original ideas to be expressed in a quick way. Before few years you had to be techy to put up your website. Now just logon and post it, whetever you want.

It will be interesting to see the winner of the race and internet's contributions to the real world and its people.

The Star Fish Story

Shimuro, was jogging in the beach as usual. He usually jogged from Westpoint to Indicana Square. Shimuro was a health conscious, young professional and an eligible bachelor. He works in one of the finest corporates of Indicana.

In the Indicana beach, the star fish(es) wash ashore, quite often. Many to struggle to get back and many die in that struggle. The next day cleaners clean the shore. Since Shimuro has been jogging here long he knows the star fish story. The get washed ashore and die and beach gets cleaned.

Whenever he used to see the star fish he would empathize. Shimuro was kind at heart and recognised by his peers and family as good, warm and kind.

In the beach case since there were too many fishes dieing every day, the problem was beyond his control and too big for an individual to solve. He thought the government should do something about this. He would blog, talk and write about this.

One that day when he was jogging he saw a morning cleaner doing something strange. He was throwing the satr fish into the see. Amused by what he saw he went near the cleaner to find out what he was actually doing. When he came very close, he understood he was not a cleaner but an old man. He has not seen the old man in the beach earlier.

Shimuro was observing closely. The old man would check if the star fish was alive or dead. If it was alive he would throw that back into the see.

Shimuro was puzzled with this funny act of the old man. He told the old man "there are too many of them, you cannot save them" and "the sun is already rising better go home now, or you may faint". The old man continued with what he was doing.

Shimuro insisted, asked him"what difference did that create?".

The old man gave a live star fish in Shimuro's hand and asked him to throw into the see. He did throw it into the sea and felt nice for some reason and was looking at the world man and said nothing. Now the old man said "to THAT STAR FISH IT MEANT LIFE and may be meant nothing to you".

Shimuro jogged away with a new smile and a clarity.

Glacier Recession

Glacier Recession

We have heard of many kind of recessions. But the upcoming one could be of a new type. Actually this is being presented in a new form. It is the ‘Glacier recession’.
How this is going to happen is simply put, world countries burnt a lot of items to get energy, to enjoy. The world was not conservative. No more people cared about others (but a lot of love shared through facebook, and does not translate to reducing global warming). Globe got heated beyond a point and ice in the Arctic melted. The fissures protecting methane gas opened. A lot of methane blew out. Increased global temperature.
To have a look at an official version of this idea go through http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-23432769
Now let us see how the impact is going to be. The climatic change, which is actually anthropogenic (due to our human activity), leads to destruction, and leads to economic instability.
These melting glaciers make water level to raise and destroy many production sites and farming lands and create health problems world over.
The total world GDP is estimated at approximately 80 trillion dollars. It means all together can produce this much. Details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)
The damage that could be caused due to the methane warming is 60 trillion dollars.
We are in a world where Wall Street giants are declaring bankruptcy, EU is struggling to stabilize, and developing nations are suffering from corruption. On top of this the glaciers are melting and water is raising, oh no!
If you are sensitive, the problems seem to be overwhelming. Agreed. So we will have to take it part by part and person by person. So the actual problem can be solved. We have the resource, we are 7 billion people. Do we have the will?
The impact is said to be major on developing and underdeveloped nations. Logical, because these are the ones that don’t have enough measures to counter floods and other calamities.
Look at how India managed the recent Uttrakhand floods. There were many people dead and many were missing. All these were used as a platform for the politicians to show their might or to talk about the incapacity of the opposition. Both ways lives were at stake. Yes military did a commendable job. For media it was the time to increase their market share, through readership or viewership (TRP). The follow-up on issues has been as usual. What will you ask them to follow, there are too many new news items, every day.
If Uttrakhand, flood had such a devastation, think about the impact the water raise could create in a country like India.
If the ‘Arctic time bomb’ blows then 60 trillion dollars are gone, from the developing and underdeveloped countries initially. Then, it will catch up the developed nations also too. Economically the world would be dead.
Few countries may survive. They need not be the richest, but may be the fittest (may be the happiest country).
Ok now how this relates to you personally. In many ways. You are a component of this world, in many ways. There could be a gap in realizing that.
If you are not aware that this can happen, then you can be happy till it happens. Or become aware and start acting.
Spread awareness.
You have been responsible for global warming (directly or watching someone heating the globe)
Try to protect your family and generations. The pain may not be realizable when you think it is going to happen to someone somewhere or to someone after many generations.
We feel the pain when it happens to a person closer or within the generation that you can see. Whether you see it or not the pain is the same. So why not create a better world for us and others?
Assume that you will start feeling the pain and impact of whatever happens to anybody in the world. Do you think you can bare it?
Assume that even after your worldly life you will feel the pain of your generations, struggling in a hot dirty earth. If you know you will live but without your physical body and will have feelings and emotions, for a thousand years, will you not create a better world today?
Did anyone give you a guarantee of that you will not have feelings after this bodily, worldly life?
Create a better world for us.

Buddha and Goal Setting

Buddha
Buddha – says - Desire is the root cause of suffering.

Dr. David Schwartz in his book ‘The Magic of Thinking Big’  - saysWant and achieve.

Napoleon Hill in his book ‘Think and Grow Rich’ – Says -  desire and become rich.

Thiru Valluvar in his book ‘ Thirukural’  - says -  For this world you need material: For the other world you need blessings. (Thirukural is a sacred book from South India having wisdom condensed in 1330 rhyming Tamil couplets).

You know you need to work hard or smart, earn money, build family, to be living happily in this world. Which one of the above should you follow?

Accept what Buddha said and do nothing and keep quite.
Or
Follow David Schwartzs and Napolean Hills and put a bigger target on your wall and look at it daily and achieve it.
Or
Take what Valluvar said and balance money and blessing to live better in this world and later in the other world.

What should you do?

Do what you feels is right for you. But the key is, clarity, on why you should select what path you should select.

What do you really want? what is the most important to you? Money, freedom, time, recognition, helping others. This is a famous question of many motivational speakers. These factors are stacked in a pyramid and find an important place in the management studies, as to what motivates a person.

But think deeply. What one really wants is happiness, am I not right in saying that? See where money, freedom and time or any of these lead to, happiness. A perceived happiness.

Did you stay happy with that last promotion, last vacation or are you really enjoying the freedom. No, you have always wanted more. You are trained to ask for more and more. Do you know what happiness is really, no because in this system it is like a mirage. As you move and reach a certain point, the happiness has already moved a bit far.

We all assume or have been trained to assume that happiness is defined by having or doing or thinking something.

The fact is, it is already there, you just don’t need any other factor to have it. The only thing between us and happiness is acceptance.

Now select whichever path you want to get there. The whole point is any path you select happiness is pre-existing.

TEAM WORK

Friends

I would like to share one of the most interesting and simple team building activities. It is fun and a solid activity to prove how important team work and focus are.

Requirements:

1) Your team, more than 10 people would be good. More the participants more the fun.

2) A long plastic/PVC pipe, or any similar material (a long stick light weight)

What do you do:

1) Separate your team into two, give them team names.

2) Each team member to stand in a row facing an opponent of the other team (like in the beginning American football game)

3) Ask them to go to kneel down (or bend to chair position)

4) Ask all of the team members to point at his opponent with their index fingers

5) Now using all their index fingers as the base keep the long pipe/stick horizontally

6) There is only one simple rule: Any given time all fingers to be in touch with pipe/stick

7) Now announce their targets: To lift the pipe/stick to a height above the tallest persons head

Observations:

1) Most of the teams struggle to bring the stick up as it always fall lower and lower

2) With a strategy and team focus the stick can be taken upwards

Inferences:

1) Even the simplest task becomes very difficult when done by a team without unity.
2) Once the team wants to achieve something and gets focused, any strategy can be implemented with much lesser effort.

Do this activity and make your team enjoy and at the same time make them realize the power of a focus and teamship.

Share the results if you have tried and share your ideas like these which worked well for you
